Trauma therapy for personal growth and exploring issues, including maladaptive behaviours.
As an integrative Psychotherapist, I offer a compassionate, relational approach to help individuals navigate their thoughts, feelings, and life challenges. Focusing on trauma recovery, we can work through the root cause of your challenges, enabling lasting healing and growth.
I welcome clients struggling with especially sensitive coping mechanisms resulting from trauma, such as Maladaptive Daydreaming and limerence. Through our sessions, you can feel empowered to explore, unpack and discover a safer reality.
I know how life-changing it was to work with a therapist who ‘got it‘ and could work deeply with me, enabling me to become someone who is now able to hold that space for others to experience the same growth. We all deserve that, including you. Life can be exhausting and the reality is life is hard! But it can be more.
Feel free to contact me if you cannot find an answer to your question.
I work pluralistically, varying the approaches I integrate, depending on your needs and what you are comfortable with. This can include, but is not limited to, a person-centred approach, Psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Attachment Theory, Inner Child Work and Brainspotting.
I have additional specialised training in narcissistic abuse, enabling me to work efficiently with individuals struggling with narcissistic abuse.
I am also a trained hypnotherapist and can offer this as a complementary therapy - please note, I require a separate discussion if you are interested in this.
No, whilst I have found that for many people trauma usually ties into challenges they are coming to therapy for, often resulting in doing trauma work, ultimately I enjoy working with people wanting to work through a variety of challenges.
I am here to provide a safe, empathetic space for you to explore and unpack. I may challenge you at times, with the aim of facilitating self-awareness and positive change.
Having had therapy for many years myself, alongside personal experience of trauma and the resulting impact they can have, I understand and appreciate how personal/sensitive they can be.
For individuals struggling with maladaptive behaviours such as Maladaptive Daydreaming or limerence, I understand the resulting feelings/behaviours which stem from those can be extremely difficult to share. Regardless of what you are wanting to share/work on within therapy, we will always go at a pace you are comfortable with.
I feel privileged to hear my clients stories and it is important to me that I provide a safe space for clients.
